Letter to applicants
Welcome to Forbush Volunteer Fire Department Inc. We invite
you to embark on a challenging and gratifying experience in fire and life
safety services.
Our department is dependant upon volunteers like you to
provide fire and life safety services for the community. The time you invest
volunteering for the department is crucial in helping provide a safer community
for the citizens we serve.
Listed below are the minimum requirements for applying.
- Applicants must reside in
the Forbush Fire District or reside within one and one half (1-½)
measurable roadway miles from any Forbush Fire District boundary line.
- Applicants must be a US
Citizen of good character, physically sound, and must have attained the
age of 18. (Age 14 is minimum age for junior firefighter applicants.)
- Applicants shall provide a
statement from a physician stating that their physical fitness is suitable
for the tasks necessary to be performed by a firefighter.
- Applicants must be willing
to submit to drug testing.
If you are interested in becoming a firefighter or EMT with
our department, please stop by the station Monday thru Friday 8am to 5pm or on Tuesday evenings from
7pm to 10pm to pick up an application packet. If you
are unable to stop by, please call or e-mail Captain Wes Hutchens @ 336-817-5779 to
obtain an application packet.
